We serve the upper midwest states of Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa, along with the northern 1/3 of Illinois, the eastern 1/2 of the Dakotas, and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
REGULAR MEMBERSHIP
$30 per year
Intended for owners of purebred Boykin Spaniels who live in the regions of the Upper Midwestern states, as displayed in above.
Regular members are able to:
• vote in elections
• vote on changes to the club bylaws
• seek election to the Board of Directors (as vacancies occur, after at least 12 months of continuous Regular membership)
Directors are elected in even-numbered years.
Other benefits of Regular Membership arise from time to time.
AFFILIATED MEMBERSHIP
$20 per year
Intended for any non-Boykin spaniel owners or for Boykin spaniel owners who live outside of the Club territory.
All membership dues expire on April 30 of each year. Life Members of the Boykin Spaniel Society are granted Life Membership in this club and are exempt from dues.
CONNECT
Weekend picnics, hunting excursions, and similar
types of events for dogs and humans can serve to unite owners in small regions of the Club “territory”. We’ve decided that informal gatherings are much more feasible to accomplish than setting up anything formalized. Please feel free to join our
group page on Facebook to seek out others who live near you and might want to get together on a weekend, or for any other purpose.
VOLUNTEER
Attending the other various types of events such as Hunting Retriever Club, Upland Gundog Association, and American Kennel Club hunt tests is an excellent way to see Boykin Spaniels and other breeds in action, doing what they are bred to do. As more and more of us participate in the weekend events, the little brown dogs are gaining admiration and respect from some of the traditional “big dog” owners. For the entrants, it’s always encouraging to have other Boykin owners show up to offer their support. Each of the participants recognize the difference it makes to have friends, as well as strangers, make a special trip to vocally support them and their dogs. We invite and encourage everyone in the Upper Midwest Boykin Spaniel Club area to please come your support for one another.
Your Boykin Spaniel can do these things, too! The membership email list and newsletters is the best way to learn when and where hunt test events are happening, come watch and learn!
